WHO ARE WE?
Hello and welcome! It’s Merel, guitarist of DEAR MOTHER. David (vocals) and I met each other on Facebook, desperately looking for like minded musicians to find musical happiness again.
It turned out to be the best thing that happened to us so far and the musical chemistry is just there. In 2019 we wrote our first album ‘Bulletproof’ as strangers via the internet. We managed to record and release it independently thanks to the help of so many wonderful people. All of this started an incredible journey for us. Crowdfunding does make dreams happen.
A NEW CHAPTER
Before I tell you more about our plans. Initially we started as a three piece with the hope that we eventually would find our people that we feel totally safe with, on and off stage. The mutual connection, chemistry and love is there. From now on DEAR MOTHER will continue with Ferry (guitar), Ruben (drums) and Desmond (bass).
NEW MUSIC
Four years later, David and I are no strangers anymore. Also we took more time to write and produce the new songs, resulting in heavier and catchier tracks. So expect a more cohesive DEAR MOTHER sound that’s pushing our own musical boundaries.
OUR GOAL
Our goal for the next 8 weeks is to collect €20.000 to fund the EP. This EP will contain 4 new songs and will be independently released in Spring 2024.
WHY CROWDFUNDING?
Traditionally, labels give an “advance” and fund the entire production, manufacturing, and marketing of an entire album, from start to finish. Bands are in debt to the label until they pay that loan off, and lose their ownership of the music. In our case as a metal community we fund the creation of this music together and make something we all feel connected to on a higher level. And for us that gives us creative freedom, keeping ownership of our music and a deeper connection with our ‘family’.
WHAT WE NEED & WHAT YOU GET
So since we’re an independent band we greatly rely on your support to realise this EP. So right now we need your help to get the funds together to record and release new music and we can’t do it without your help and it truly means so much to us as an independent band!
We need to cover all the expenses concerning the production and release of this EP which includes: travel costs, pre-production, gear, software, mixing, mastering, rental, musicians, printing costs, taxes, artworks and promotion. We need €20.000 to reach the break-even point without paying ourselves a salary. This crowdfunding/pre-order is to avoid getting ourselves into a massive debt since we’re going to release the EP no matter what. So we can guarantee the delivery of every perk.
Via this crowdfunding you can secure a physical CD that will be signed by the band and many other crowdfunding exclusives. Also if you purchased or donated via the crowdfunding, your name will be featured in the booklet! How cool is that?? Just have a look at what we’ll have available. O yeah… and we’ll release extra experiences/products through the crowdfunding period, so stay tuned!

WHAT WILL DEAR MOTHER DO WITH THE FUNDS?
The funds will go to the production of all products to cover the costs. From travel costs to mastering. Our goal is to avoid going into debt, so we can use all the help that we need!
WHAT IF YOU DON’T REACH THE GOAL?
We guarantee the pre-orders. If we don’t reach the goal we’re not going to quit. It only means that we will go into debt
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY ITEMS?
All items will be shipped in spring 2024. If you booked an experience type of product, then you’ll be contacted via email.
